Our History

38 During the 38 years of deep cultivation, we have always held a grand vision for internationalization.

WIETC started with international crew manning business in 1988, thus taking its first step towards the world stage. Riding the wave of economic globalization and China's Going Global strategy, the Company has long upheld its vision of “Building a Dream and Creating a Sustainable Life over the World”. Rooted in Africa while expanding its footprint worldwide, we have gradually evolved into a comprehensive multinational enterprise featuring coordinated development across multiple industries.

Our Inception

WIETC obtained the right to operate foreign-oriented businesses.

1988

In August, WIETC obtained the right to operate foreign-oriented businesses.

1989

In January, WIETC was established with approval from the State Administration for Industry and Commerce.

1991

Foreign Aid Operations Launched

WIETC was awarded the China Aid renovation project for the Seychelles Polytechnic School, marking the commencement of the Company's foreign aid engineering business.

1993

Corporate Restructuring

Restructured into a joint-stock enterprise.

In March, WIETC was restructured into a joint-stock enterprise as one of the first pilot units for shareholding reform in Weihai City.

1994

Leap-forward Growth in Labor Services

In June, WIETC dispatched 1,000 trainees to South Korea for the first time, marking a significant breakthrough in its overseas labor services.

Groundbreaking Milestone

Awarded the bid for Military Avenue Project

In January, WIETC won the bidding for the Congo (Brazzaville) Military Avenue Project, marking a groundbreaking in the international engineering contracting field.

Re-entry into Real Estate Sector

A decade of explosive growth in engineering business

In December, WIETC re-entered the real estate sector and launched the Weihai Ideal Hill Residential Complex development project.

2007

In May, WIETC secured the Maya Maya International Airport Project in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo, marking the beginning of a decade of rapid growth in its engineering business.

Potash Exploration

Entered the mining sector

2008

WIETC acquired potash exploration rights in Congo (Brazzaville), entering the mining sector.

2016

Business Shift

Labor services shifted to Southeast Asia.

WIETC expanded its labor services to Southeast Asia, establishing labor service companies and training centers in Vietnam, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Nepal.

2018

Business Transformation

Entered the integrated Investment–Construction–Operation model.

In March, WIETC transitioned its engineering business toward an integrated investment-construction-operation model, signing the PPP contract for the United Nations Office Building Project in Senegal.

The Congo (Kinshasa) tile factory and the Congo (Brazzaville) cassava planting & processing industrial park invested by WIETC were launched successively, propelling industrial investment into a fast track of growth.

2023

In June, WIETC signed the concession agreement for the Moukoulou Hydropower Project in Congo (Brazzaville), marking its entry into the clean energy sector.

2026

In February, WIETC refined its strategic positioning, aiming to become a leading comprehensive investment holding group in Africa.
