Both Kananga water supply projects are financed under the World Bank's AGREE framework. The Lulua River New Water Intake and Drinking Water Treatment Plant (Phase I) will develop water intake, conveyance and treatment facilities drawing on the Lulua River, with a designed daily treatment capacity of 75,000 cubic metres. The Kanyuka Existing Water Treatment Plant Rehabilitation and Expansion Project will build a new Tshibashi water source plant while simultaneously upgrading and expanding the existing treatment plant and its associated pipe network.

Once completed, the two projects will enable more residents of Kananga to enjoy access to safe and reliable drinking water, providing a solid guarantee for local urban development and the improvement of people's livelihoods.
