On September 28, a delegation comprising the Employer, the supervision consultant and the project partner Yuanxin Energy Storage of the Koudougou Solar and Energy Storage Power Plant Project in Burkina Faso visited WIETC (Weihai International Economic & Technical Cooperative Co., Ltd.). The two sides held discussions on project implementation and deeper cooperation. Mr. Liu Faguang, Executive Vice President of WIETC, Mr. Yu Jiangwei, Chief Engineer, and heads of relevant departments attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Executive Vice President Liu Faguang briefed the delegation on the company's key businesses and representative projects, with particular emphasis on the significance of the Koudougou project. He stated that the project is of great importance to the company's efforts to support Burkina Faso's energy security, and that WIETC will provide full support in terms of technology, resources and commercial affairs, strictly implement all requirements, and work together to ensure high-quality, high-standard delivery, so that the people of Burkina Faso can enjoy stable, green and secure electricity.
Mr. Raouda, Project Manager representing the Employer, noted that Burkina Faso attaches great importance to national security, of which power security is an integral part, and that the project has drawn close attention from the President down to the General Manager of SONABEL. The Employer's team will accompany the WIETC–Yuanxin Energy Storage consortium throughout the entire process to ensure timely delivery of the project with guaranteed quality.
Mr. Voisin, Chief Supervision Consultant of the solar and storage project, stated that the supervision team will cooperate fully and proactively coordinate with all parties to jointly drive the successful delivery of the project.
In conclusion, all parties agreed to take the project as a bond to build even closer ties and contribute to Burkina Faso's energy security as well as China–Africa cooperation.
